PlantingScience is a learning and research resource, bringing together students, plant scientists, and teachers from across the nation. Students engage in hands-on plant investigations, working with peers and scientist mentors to build collaborations and to improve their understanding of science. Middle school through college students have enjoyed successful plant investigations using the PlantingScience program. The primary target audience is high school: Classrooms, Science Clubs, and other After School Groups, but all welcome. For middle and secondary school students, they support student-team investigations through online discussions with a scientist mentor.

National Junior Horticulture Association: http://www.njha.org/
The NJHA was founded in 1934 and was the first organization in the world dedicated solely to youth and horticulture. It is a national program that helps young people develop skills in and obtain an understanding of horticulture. Participation is in two divisions – junior (ages 14 and under) and senior (ages 15 -22). Those in the senior division are eligible to attend the annual NJHA national convention held throughout the U.S. each October.
